The only relation between the SUPDUP protocol and the TELNET protocol
is that they both use 8-bit bytes.  A SUPDUP terminal is a %TNSFW,
%TPCBS terminal to ITS (8-bit %TDxxx codes out, 7-bit ↑\ codes in,
allocation not used).  See TTY ORDER.  There is also the initial
negotiation of terminal type; the best documentation on this is
to search for the label SUPNEG: in SYSENG;TELSER >.  I believe there
is a comment there which explains it adequately.  For the ICP socket,
